A clear standout of Australian bodyboarding’s new generation, Chris James differentiates himself from his peers through his bold approach to large waves and his affection for big boosts, not to mention the number of nicknames he has picked up along the way. He doesn’t often find the best surf in his hometown of Wahroonga, however, and chooses to roam the various coastlines of Oz in search of the heaviest and most remote waves on which to unleash his raw yet ever stylish brand of surfing. Chris has also tested the waters in foreign locations such as Hawaii, the Cook Islands and more recently Ireland, the US and the Phillipines where he fed off the energy and intensity of the waves and furthered his proficiency in waves that your average rider would definitely shy away from.

Chris’ talents extend beyond his outstanding ability in the surf, and have led him to undertake a bachelor of business course at University as well as to pursue other sports such as tennis and kite flying. There is no doubt, however, that Chris’ riding puts him at the forefront of any riders at any spot on any given day and Chris has unquestionably established himself as one of the solid foundations of the BSC team.
