“On monday last week myself, simon le grand and toby patrick headed south in search for waves, much like the rest of the east coast.
Unfortunately the swell was rather large and most of the major spots were too big. After a few hours of searching around and finding out pipe was maxing out, we headed to mystics where we scored some pretty fun waves.
A highlight of the session was BP landing a big invert to air reverse. After a fast food frenzy at Red Rooster we headed to kiama wedge just as the swell peaked. There were some good 8ft sets rolling in and some big bowls to be had. Apparently not long after we left Chris James performed one of the largest aerial stunts of his lengthy career - check the next Movement magazine for the evidence.
Below is a frame grab of myself from the mystics session as filmed by Will Hodgett.
Will is editing an East Coast & Northern Beaches section especially for the December 3rd Avalon premiere of ‘Nothing’ by Robert Sherwood. Tickets are available now at Bodyboarders Surf Co.”
